Department of Human Services

Preschool Open Doors (POD)

Provides subsidies to eligible families sending their children to a licensed preschool during the school year prior to kindergarten entry. Subsidy is used to assist with payments to DHS licensed group child care homes or centers (i.e., preschools). The program has a time-limited application period each year.

Executive Office of Early Learning

Public Pre-Kindergarten

Provides high-quality early learning experiences for students in the year prior to kindergarten eligibility. Child must be age 4 years on or before July 31 of the current school year.

YMCA

YMCA Honolulu

Provides child care and extended child care for preschool - teen (3-18 years old). Provides before and after school care for children. Offers land and aquatic exercise programs for adults, including Arthritis Aqua Exercise. Offers afterschool, summer and holiday child care programs for school aged children. Offers learn-to-swim programs for children through adults. Youth leadership program for teenagers.
